Drew at Lithub says we should stop linking to Amazon and I don’t disagree with him. Jeff Bezos is just like any other big tech oligarchs out there.

But Drew doesn’t offer any alternatives for those that want to advertise their books. You could link to Bookshop which helps support local bookstores with your purchases and has an affiliate program for those like me that talk about books. I could link to Kobo which works with my e-reader, a Kobo, but doesn’t have any affiliate program.

I don’t make lots of money off my Amazon affiliate links, and I do always link to Bookshop.org before an Amazon link if the book is available there, but that 800-1000 a year that randomly comes in is always a nice surprise.

Any suggestions for products outside of books though? Where do I link people? Do I stop even trying to cover the hosting costs of this site with affiliate links?
