I bought a DS920+ a few years ago after wanting a NAS for a long enough time that Drobo was the most recommended option. But when Synology decided to force some devices to only use their hard drives I saw the writing on the wall. At some point I’ll get my own server going without Synology in the mix.

Even now that Synology backtracked in the face of sales tanking, they’ve shown that given the option they’ll be a shit company. I still won’t be purchasing another Synology device.
