Every few years I fall off the content wagon. I go from publishing several posts a week to…possibly publishing nothing for a week or a month, or a few months. I used to beat myself up about this because I wasn’t delivering the content I said I’d deliver.

As with most people, I’d imagine the worst-case scenarios where readers would show up with pitchforks missing content and I’d feel terrible. Of course, that assumes that readers pay enough attention to notice that my content isn’t coming anymore.

You’re not, and you shouldn’t though. You’ve got kids to watch. You’ve got parents to help care for. You’ve got a job to work and clients to keep happy so that you can eat next month.

I’ve been feeling myself slip off the wagon again lately. I’ve missed a few Friday emails lately and I have felt not so hot about it.

I look at my content calendar and it looks like so much work, not something fun that I get to do.

The difference this time is that I don’t care. Not that I want to stop producing content, trust me the fights during vacation about my need to write prove I couldn’t stop content. I’m just not going to worry about falling off the content wagon for a bit.

I may do fewer videos for a bit. I may change what’s on my content calendar and do some video that seems fun to me. I may write on a whim instead of running everything through a process.

I too will focus on doing my client work so that my kids can eat and we can continue to do adult stuff, like save for a down payment on a house. Sometimes, that’s all you can and should be doing.

Keep being awesome.

## I Shipped

Monday I reviewed my new set of wireless headphones for my computer and iPad, the [Arctis Pro Wireless](https://curtismchale.ca/2020/06/22/steelseries-arctis-pro-wireless-with-maos-and-ipados). In short, they connect to two devices and sound good for calls. Recommended.

Wednesday I talked about how I produce files that work with [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md) from my iPad where there is no Obsidian app. [The key is 1Writer and it’s support for Wiki Links](https://curtismchale.ca/2020/06/24/obsidian-files-on-your-ipad-with-1writer).

As you read this a [review of How to Take Smart Notes was published](https://curtismchale.ca/2020/06/26/how-to-take-smart-notes-book-review). There are only two books I recommend any reader as must-reads and this is one of them. Check out that post/video to find out the other.
