Carl Pullein on Analogue
Carl talks about the analogue tools he’s loved this year and I get it. I have a notebook at my desk to record tasks all day and journal. I take most of my book notes in a notebook and then transfer the relevant parts over to Obsidian. I mostly read physical books as well, the experience feels so much nicer to me.
Neither digital or analogue is the single best way and your needs will change at times in your life.
Molly on Public Libraries
If public libraries were invented today they’d be illegal.
Molly White talks about the campaigns against libraries we see manifesting today. From the Internet Archive having to stop it’s book lending program due to the big publishers bringing a case against them, to libraries having to pay far more for lending digital books…if we don’t stay on top of our politicians to make sure that libraries stay around we will loose the right to read freely.
Probably the most offensive thing here is that the Internet Archive can’t use the collected works of humanity and provide them back to humanity, but AI companies can slurp up all this data and charge us for it.
Support the Internet Archive and support your local library.
How to Monetize a Blog
This is an excellent article on how to monetize a blog. You have to go see it because it not only tells you how to monetize a blog, it shows you what it looks like when you do it.
If you’re not writing to make money, then why are you writing? (sarcasm)
