Matt contends that professional tools need 3 things:
- Reliability
- Predictability
- Flexibility
This is why I stick with Neovim. It just works the way it’s supposed to work all the time and doesn’t update with new tools (like some AI shit) because the company thinks it needs to get AI into its tools.
Finally, I can create any workflow I want.
I’ve tried other code editors and after a month or two I find too much friction and head back to Neovim. In fact, I’ve been using it often to edit the content of my Obsidian vault as well via obsidion.nvim because it’s a nicer interface for editing text than Obsidian is.
