From Cory on social media.
Find your space and don’t feel obligated to participate in any of it.
This goes with some ideas I had recently on only posting on your own site to avoid angertainment.
You’ll read so much about making your personal brand and the places you need to be to make that brand, but the advice is not true. It follows whatever the author thinks is popular at the time. If the author was into Twitter they tell you it’s the place to be, but someone else will tell you Linkedin is the best spot for business.
I like Cory’s thought of finding what you like and then just doing that. If it’s blogging and avoiding any type of social media, even a federated service, then just blog and forget the advice being tossed around.
