The hate Matt talks about is real.

I love your work on YouTube, I’ve been subscribed for years, and I never miss a video. That said, I find it morally reprehensible that you would try to make any money on this. I won’t say it out loud, and I might even tell myself that this isn’t what I think, but I really can’t stand it.

Many creators will get messages every few weeks thanking them for their work with 99.9% of the comments never helping the content continue.

I write because I feel like I can’t do anything else and have a very well paying job so I don’t need the support in many ways. But I look at all the ideas I have that I never have the chance to dig into and wish I could write full time, which would require the support of more than a handful of my readers.
