My used iPhone 15 came in today and Matt writes about the comparison between it and a 17e. I managed to get my 15 for just over $500 CDN beacause it is a used model with a few scratches on the frame. The screen is fine and I'll stick it in a case in two days when that comes in, so I'll never see the scratches.

A new 17e would have cost $899 CDN so at just over $500 I saved at least $300.

The only reason I'm replacing my 13 Mini is because the battery took a sharp nose dive with iOS 26. The only reason I waited this long is because I loved the 13 Mini and didn't want a bigger phone so I spent a bunch of time looking for something that wasn't big in Android land. While I found some options, the carrier support was questionable for northern BC so I just stuck with the iPhone.

Still all of these small phones look compelling and some run Android 15. At $200 I can try one out and see if it works for my needs later this year and then sell the 15 if it does.
