Stick with your tooling
This is a great reminder to stick with your tools. This is why I don’t review lots of PKM apps, I’ve found Obsidian and it works for me. I don’t do a bunch of Obsidian content anymore because I’m not changing my workflow all the time as I try to sort out what it really means to me. I’ve got it nailed down and now take notes and try to write.
I’m sure some new tool has a cool feature, but it’s probably also broken in a few ways that Obsidian nails so at the end of the day I’d end up with a “new” tool that had just as many pain points as Obsidian.
Shitposting to combat AI
Joan makes a good case for adding the absurd to content to combat AI. I say put more personality into your writing instead of attempting to be “dry” or adcademic. The more you feel a real person in the writing the more it connects with other real people.
A Bad Phone is Better?
MKBHD took a look at the Boox Palma because yes we can use self-control, but isn’t it better if you can’t get in a doom-scrolling loop? Not sure I could go this way as it doesn’t have a SIM card so isn’t a phone, but I’ve looked at the Light Phone which is a limit but real phone.
