I am tempted to use time away from the office to catch up on things that I should have done at the office if I weren’t so damn busy. – David
While David is reflecting on his sabbatical, I think this roles into most jobs. I recently worked most of a weekend because stuff needed to get done and it’s always on my list and asked about, but other things are always more important so the tasks never get done. Yes I get paid hourly so I earned more money for the work, but I was mentally exhausted for the rest of the week and progress on the main tasks was slow.
One neat feature of nvim-orgmode is that it shows you how often you’ve rescheduled a task. I probably need to be honest with my employer and if a task has been rescheduled 3 times tell them it’s clearly not important enough to be a priority so we’re simply moving the task to backlog and waiting until it’s important enough to do.
