Perry’s main argument is that while the sexual revolution liberated women from some of the taboo’s of sex outside of marriage, it also brought many issues for women participating in sex. She argues, convincingly to me, that the sexual market today is geared towards men and that most women end up participating in hook up culture, and promiscuous sex, not because it’s what they want but because it’s become table stakes for them to get any interest from men if they want to have a chance at a heterosexual marriage in their future.

I think Perry does a good job outlining the harms that sex work, pornography, hook up culture, and rough sexual practices like BDSM does to most women. She does acknowledge that some women do want to participate in sex like a man, promiscuous risky and with many partners, but that most don’t and are forced into it by culture.
