I’ve read a number of books about basic income or scarcity and poverty but they’ve all been in the US context and aren’t entirely applicable to the political climate found in Canada. A Better Place on Earth takes a look at equality, poverty, and homelessness in my home province of British Columbia. MacLeod provides stark statistics on politicians funding their pet projects that advantage their income and families, while saying there isn’t enough money to assist those in poverty.
BC and Canada, we need to do better.
If you want to see how BC in 2016 looked for equality, this is a good book to read.
