This is a list of Scott Berkun's rules for living a life of purpose. He asks readers to wake up, and then spends a the rest of the book using his rule framework to help jog us into being awake to the world around us.

I like reading one or two books like this every year. There are always different things that speak to me based on how life is going at the moment. One poignant part was near the end where Berkun asks us to notice what we're afraid of missing if we die, then says we should spend more time doing that.

With one kid graduating high school and my younger two kids not being so young, I'd have to say that I'm recognising how little time I have left to spend with them. My oldest has already spent most of the time she'll ever spend with us. I'd miss spending time with them, even though I find them frustrating and easily irritated at this moment. I need to remember that I'll miss them in a very short amount of time.

I enjoyed the book and it will become one of my bookshelf candidates when I'm looking for a book to read to help me think about my current state of life.
