Review

This was a wonderful look back at the career of Patrick Stewart. I love that he was comfortable enough to share many embarrassing stories, and reflect on how uptight he was in the beginning of his career wishing he could go back and get himself to lighten up a bit.

I also loved the genuine loved conveyed through the pages for his male friends and coworkers. If only all men could be this comfortable showing affection for each other. Men limit themselves of so much joy in the world as they try to be "tough".

Notes

- In his first experience living on his own and shopping he accidentally ordered 100lbs of potatoes and was too embarrassed to admit his mistake. When he moved out almost a year later he still had potatoes under the sink. Pg 165
- he spent one play drunkenly stumbling through his lines and then never drinks before a performance again. Pg 206, 207
- got to drive [[Paul McCartney]]'s Aston Martin DB4 just because he knew Paul's girlfriend and she said Stewart liked the car. Pg 214
- the tender love he shows towards his male friends is heartwarming. I wish more men could be this comfortable with each other. Pg 241
- his story of the stray dog with a massive erection during a play had me in tears. Pg 246
- he was 43 years old in Dune whe we finally was "big" enough to fly first class. Pg 280, 281
- didn't know who [[Sting]] was on Dune. Thought he played in a Police band and had no idea who The Police were. Pg 286
- he took a cheap lecture night for a friend talking to anyone in the public that wanted to hear about acting and [[Gene Rodenberry]]'s assistant was there. This is how we got our captain in [[Stare Trek The Next Generation]], just luck. Pg 304
- more people saw the [[Stare Trek The Next Generation]] opener Encounter at Farpoint than had watched Patrick in all his shows in his life till that point. Pg 330, 331
- was not a fan of the young [[Tom Hardy]] in Nemesis, but loves his work as he's grown. Pg 380
