Facebook and “Responsibility”

Quoting from the article:

We have a responsibility to help people understand how much time they spend on our platforms so they can better manage their experience.

I feel like they need to replace “responsibility” with an entire aside. Something like:

People are pissed at us over Cambridge Analytica and more research shows Facebook is bad for you so we’re trying to save face a bit, oh and our stock took a huge hit. Please don’t see through the fog and leave.

Something like that feels more right.

I’m still on Facebook for 1 group, my book club. I did check snow conditions with the local hiking group for a mountain I was up, but that’s it.

I wish the reading group would go for a Discourse or bbPress forum instead so I could just close my account.
