While listening to The Talk Show Episode 384¹ John Gruber and Michael Simmons raved about the meditation features of the upcoming Vision Pro being able to gain you some peace in the midst of a busy world.

To me the excitement makes me think of the dystopian future we seem to be headed towards sometimes. The place where the only peace you can get is in the grip of a technology company where they can control the entire experience you’re allowed to have.

It feels more like the OASIS from Ready Player One than the holodeck from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

How about we invest money into building a society that doesn’t have a reality so packed and bad that the only escape is by giving your attention to a tech companies product that costs $3500.
