Read what you don't agree with
This is a good reminder to read things you don't agree with because the other side is not dumb and it's far too easy to fall into the trap of democratic hubris. We may not export our clearly superior ideas. Our ideas may not even be superior and we shouldn't be surprised when someone else doesn't agree with us.
In fact we should celebrate it. If we can have good conversations, as described by Adam Grant in Think Again we should both be able to come to a better understanding of not only our ideas, but ideas that run counter to our own intellectual bent.
Feelings on AI usage
This is a good post on the mixed feelings about AI usage and I agree with them.
I use AI in my coding job and it's helped me tackle big things that were sitting as something we'd get to someday, which never came. When I need to probe thousands of lines of logs on a site, that's at job for AI.
I use AI to check my spelling, as an advanced search engine for my notes when the regular Obsidian search fails me but I know I have a note that relates to my current writing.
I don't use it for raw thinking though, just to help me find other related things that I should think about. I use it to challenge my writing and improve it.
I know some people won't like that, and you do you.

Recommending a band
This week I got 3 CDs from Nothing More and they're awesome. Pretty much every song has me jamming while at the keyboard working. I first heard them when the video below came up in a random YouTube playlist and after the third time I heard it I went in and bought their albums.
I am not disappointing in my choice.
Sitting at my desk working solo all day, music is what I have going all the time. During the summer it's via my headphones more often at my desk because kids are around and my daughter's room is next to my office. The rest of the year I close my door and enjoy the music on my stereo.
Getting back into music ownership and just sitting and listening to music has been one of the best things I've done in the last two years. My kids have asked for CDs now and we have spent time with popcorn and a drink in my office on the best stereo in the house with them telling me why they like their music, and them hearing parts of the music that they've never heard until it got on my bigger system.
It's also provided a relaxation environment for me. Sitting down to listen to a CD for 45 minutes or more has me getting up for the rest of the day feeling refreshed instead of just running between everything that I have to do.
