This is a collection of short fiction that Sanderson has written over the decades. Some of it has been seen published in various magazines or online, but some of it is seeing it’s first publishing. All of the stories were good, and a few were great.
This spans both fantasy and science fiction. You can see some of the ideas that would become series like Skyward which is an excellent series. Sanderson says in the book that his short stories is where he tries out new methods of story telling which he often uses later in his popular series.
It’s nice to see some of Sanderson’s early work that not quite as polished as later stuff to know that every author started out only okay, probably bad but he never shared those stories, before they became the excellent writer they are today.
