Welcome to the last Smart Business Show episode of 2017. Thanks for all the fish.
I’ll be taking at least two weeks off so no podcast next week and no podcast in the first week of January.
During that time I’ll be doing a few things.
- hanging out with my kids and wife
- spending an afternoon with my wife talking about how the year went and how we want next year to go. What changes are we going to make
- updating my computer with High Sierra, maybe. Not sure about it yet maybe a clean install of Sierra instead
- writing, I’ll be writing
- planing my 12 week cycle starting in the first week of January when I’m taking a week off
- writing, more writing hoping to finish a book length piece for January
Recaping 2017
I wrote and published around 215k words. Some was in book form. Some was in video form but almost all of it was free on this site.
My income was down the most it has ever been. This is due to mostly switching over to coaching and not having the time to put in to development projects, at the same time as not having coaching pick up fully yet. I’m hoping to turn that around in 2018 with a number of different ventures planned so I can be back up to my 2016 levels and beyond.
I published three books:
I launched a video course called The 8 Week Business BootCamp. Along with that I launched a membership that includes a bunch of stuff like access to my books and to the books I’m writing in 2018. Joining me for extra content and discussion during the month, and a monthly book club.
I did a video course for Asian Efficiency which you can get in January as a member of their Dojo.
I started a set of reading lists for you so you don’t have to dig through a bunch of crap reading first. Watch those pages for more reading as I add more books. I’ll also be building out a way to search through all the books I’ve read and reviewed so that you can find them easier. I keep having people ask about how to find all the books and it’s just not easy right now.
I’d love to hear about your recap and what your plans are for 2018.
Thanks for the Fish
One thing I want to address for the podcast listeners is, that I don’t actually want you to have a 6-figure income. I want you to have a life that suits your needs. I want you to spend time with your kids and such.
That’s the goal I have and I think that aiming for business success only and failing in relationships still means you’re a failure.
