While there are many great ideas to pique your interest, I couldn’t help but think that I needed to read all the other philosophy the author cites to fully make sense of his arguments. This is clearly a philosophy book focused on burnout and work, and it’s written as such with long complex arguments I had to go back through many times to even start to understand where it was going.
If that sounds like a book for you, then it’s decent. If you’re not looking for philosophy on burnout, then choose something else that’s got a more practical bent. While Cal Newport doesn’t directly deal with burnout, his books come to mind.
