You launched it – throw a party
by
I love working for myself. I get to decide my projects and my rates. I get to have a commute that is super short. I get to hang with my daughter over lunch. The downside is that I work by myself 99% of the time. That means that I don’t have a bunch of coworkers

Angie Meeker snippet – Awesome mom and awesome at WordPress business
by
I published a bunch of interview snippets earlier this week but I hadn’t had a chance to talk with Angie Meeker. Angie and I talked about a bunch of different things (like pricing based on value and that starts with sales) but one thing that really stuck out to me is her discussion about being

After my interview with Cory Miller for my freelance business book I saw that he offered a bunch of free resources on his site. Some of the books are available for free and a few require you need to sign up for his email list, but it’s a small price to pay for all the

Join me for a Webinar on Mastermind Groups

After interviewing Cory Miller for my book he got in touch with me to see if I was willing to talk about the Mastermind Group I started. Of course I want to help people start their own and do better with their business. If you want to join me then you need to register. The

You pulled an ‘all-nighter’ because you are an idiot
by
The all-nighter seems to be the staple of so many freelancers. There is just so much work to do and things need to get done. At least that’s the convenient excuse. I find that the reality is that you are a poor planner and have bad productivity habits. So what are you doing wrong that

I mean this when I say communicate clearly twice a week
by
I’ve advocated a few times for at least 2 emails per week updating clients. In fact just this week I said that not doing it is a way to set yourself up for bad client work. Now I’ve had some push back on that concept. This is totally my fault and I’ll clear it up.
